For Reviewers
Clinical Network Editore publishes research that is novel and timely, and which provides significant insights into the broad principles of medical and clinical research. Articles should address clear hypotheses or questions, and offer new insights on topics of interest to a broad cross-section of our readers.
MSJ publishes high-quality multidisciplinary research which is of interest to specialists within each field. Manuscripts submitted to MSJ are reviewed by at least two experts. The review process is single-blind. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the quality and soundness of the manuscript and of the research reported. This will help authors to improve their manuscript and editors to reach a decision.
Our expectation is that reviews are returned in around 14 days. There is no set format for the comments, but MSJ asks to their reviewer to assess the manuscript across the following broad criteria:
- Robustness of experimental design and statistical analyses, including adequate replication.
- Completeness of description of samples, libraries, and analyses.
- Findings that are noteworthy and significantly extend our knowledge of the field.
- Adequacy of results interpretation and conclusions.
- Overall methods and scale of experiments should in agreement with the standard set by published experiments for similar processes.
The reviewing system will allow you to provide feedback in the following areas:
- Remarks to the Author (which are transmitted to the authors in full)
- Remarks to the Editor (which are read by editorial staff only and remain confidential)
MSJ works with Publons and Review Credits to provide reviewers with credit for their work.
Reviewers are asked to notify us immediately and recuse themselves from handling a manuscript if they have a potential competing interest, intellectual or financial, that precludes them from rendering an impartial scientific judgment or evaluation. Reviewers who have a competing interest but believe that it does not preclude their making a proper judgment must disclose to the journal the nature of the conflict. If you have recently collaborated with any of the authors (that is, you have coauthored a paper, or were a principal investigator on a grant, with any of the authors within the past 48 months), we ask that you recuse yourself. Material under review is a privileged communication that may not be shared or discussed with anyone outside the designated review process. If you wish to consult a colleague for assistance with the review, please ensure they are free of any competing interests and agree to abide by journal policies. Reviewers and anyone they consult with must keep the content of the manuscript confidential and refrain from using it in their own research before it is published. The MSJ review process is single-anonymous; authors will not know your identity unless you purposefully sign your comments.
